Scuba Dive in Krabi

Scuba diving is becoming increasingly popular as an outdoor activity. It is a great addition to any family holiday. Scuba diving is not only fun, it is very easy, too. In the past, recreatonal diving required a large investment and was beyond the reach of most people. Today, scuba gear is readily available for rent and scuba diving can be done by anyone with a love for underwater exploration.

Krabi province has many dive shops. In order to scuba dive in Krabi, choose a Krabi dive shop and join a tour led by experienced divers. Many divers live in cold climates and only dive while on vacation in a warm climate, such as Krabi, Thailand.

If you and your family would like to scuba dive while in Krabi, head to Ao Phra Nang or Koh Lanta island.  The best time of year to scuba dive in Krabi is Novenber through April. Of course, most scuba operators are open all year round and they will not be as busy during the off season, May through October. However, visibility is reduced during monsoon season, May to October, and there is an increase in surface swells. It is rare for diving trips to be cancelled due to weather conditions, but it can happen.

Scuba diving is not for everyone. If some members of your family want to experience the thrill of a scuba dive in Krabi, but others prefer life on top of the water, then book your tour with an operator that combines snorkeling and diving on the same trip.

Krabi is a good destination for a diving holiday as, unlike many of the islands on the Gulf side of Thailand, it offers a variety of activities for non-diving family members.
